Each second brings him one step closer to the job at hand and a day in the life of a smokejumper. As the jump plane arrives in the area of the wildfire, jumpers look out the windows and share information with their JP (jump partner). Winds, smoke, and ground hazards are part of the job as they circle the fire before going into jump operations.

Our organization is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Serket USA ("Serket"), a privately held company headquartered in Jupiter, FL.
Founded in 2011, Serket manufactures protective apparel and personal equipment solutions for those who defend and serve in the Armed Forces and Federal Law Enforcement industries. Driven by innovation, and ever-changing industry dynamics, their approach and product designs are centered around comfort, performance, and technology for essential operations.

Is Your Family Prepared For Fire Season?
In the event of an emergency, every home should possess an emergency supply kit. These kits should remain fully stocked in advance with essential household items and be ready for use long before a wildfire (or any other natural disaster) becomes a threat. Each family member should also have their own emergency supply kit readily available in the instance a sudden evacuation is ordered.
Here are a few tips to consider while creating your emergency supply kit:
Store your food and water in a tub or chest with wheels for easy transportation.
Smaller items such as flashlights, first aid kits, and extra batteries can be stored in a backpack.
Pack one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation.
Pack at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food.
Radios should be either battery-powered, hand crank style, or NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert.
Extra batteries and chargers are essential to have on hand for radio, cell phones, flashlights.
Important family documents should be stored in a waterproof container.
Pack a Sleeping bag, blanket, complete change of clothing and sturdy clothes for each person.
Pack any important prescription medications, eyeglasses or contact lens solution.
Be sure to keep cloth face coverings, soap, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes on hand to help prevent the spread of germs.
Paper cups, plates, paper towels and utensils offer convenient disposal.
